A Question of Ethics

“I can do no other than be reverent before everything that is called life. I can do no other than to have compassion for all that is called life. That is the beginning and the foundation of all ethics.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

I’ve been thinking a lot about ethics this week because I had my students reading an essay that flat out said that students arrive at college these days lacking ethics, so it’s something that needs to be taught.  I wrote about it in my other blog, from a different angle, which you can find here if you’re interested.

I love this definition of ethics, and I hope that this is what I practice in my life. I certainly try to.  And I hope I not only teach it, but model it at well.  A thought on this Ides of March.
