“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” Confucius
Very old wisdom, though I have to admit, it reminds me of the old Ray Stevens’ song “Everything is Beautiful” that was a hit in my childhood. My 10-year-old self was very much the same anti-hate, pro-tolerance person I am now, and my best friend and I would sing this song together, making one little change. The song starts with children singing the hymn “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” who are “yellow, black and white.” Both of us have Native American heritage (2 drops in my case), so we would sing “yellow, red, black and white.” I still sing it that way when I hear it.
But everything is beautiful if we just stop to find the beauty, and I think that’s a good point to ponder.
Here’s hoping you find the beauty today and always.
