Something Really is Better Than Nothing

“The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention.” ~ John Burroughs
We all are awash with good intentions, but as the old saw goes, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”  These can either be good intentions to do a good deed (I’m going to make a donation to that charity) or to improve ourselves (I’m going to write 1000 words a day, five days a week or study Italian or or or).  But if we don’t actually do something, well, it’s all just words.
Some say, well, I don’t have $50 to donate, so next time. But even $1 is good. Or we can’t do 1000 words, so we do nothing.  Do 10.
Believe me, I am not casting stones!  Many of these blogs are me reminding myself!  One small step is better than no step at all, so here’s to the small steps.
