It’s The Questions that are Hard

“Answers are easy. It’s asking the right questions which is hard.” – The Fourth Doctor, as written by Chris Boucher

This is something I try to teach my students. It’s not the answers that count.  It’s learning to ask the right question which is the key to gaining knowledge.

It takes practice, and I don’t really know how to help people find the right question. My staple instruction is “go deeper” or “take it further.”  Add a “what if”.

But I do know we have to keep working at finding the right question. And usually, we know when we find it.

Cryptic? Yes. But isn’t most truth?
