This was a tweet I posted today, and I thought it was pretty good advice, so I wanted to add it here.

Dwelling on the past never does anyone any good. But it’s something I have to tell myself on a regular basis!  It’s so easy to fall into the “I wish I had….” refrain and waste even more time.  Just deal with the reality you have and move on.

Here where I live we had huge winds, the huge March winds we get every year, but these “felt” different.  Metaphysically speaking, wind is a good thing since it blows “stuff” away.  If you need a cleansing, a walk in a stiff wind, or a breeze if that’s all that’s available, is always a good thing.  But these felt very healing.  A lot of the dark negativity that I’ve felt building up was swept away when I went out for a walk.  And I had a sudden onslaught of practical and useful ideas, so thank you, Aeolus.

Yet something is definitely in the air, something I’ve been sensing for months now.  Unfortunately, I’m not a psychic. I’m an empath, so I “feel” it, but can’t articulate it yet.  I suspect that many who aren’t even aware of being sensitives are feeling it.  I’ve been noticing it at work–many people around me are talking about depression and feeling “off”. I’ve even had a suicidal student who thankfully reached out for help.  But I’ve been hearing far too many similar stories this fall and winter. 

Hopefully yesterday’s winds were a part of the process and something has been dispelled.  I’m not sure, though.  I am expecting a sea change to hit society, but unfortunately, I don’t know how or when.  Not even sure what. 

Sometimes I call myself Cassandra.  Like her, I often make predictions that many, many times come out to be true.  But like the poor Cassandra, no one ever believes me.  So this is the first time I’ve gone public with my sea change theory, as embryonic as it still is.  Usually the ideas are far more articulated before I speak, but this time I’m going public prematurely because I’m wondering if there’s anyone else out there who has been sensing something.  Please add something, as I’d love to hear from you.

No one likes to suffer, but let’s face it, it’s part of the human condition. So Montaigne makes a very good point; to paraphrase, don’t borrow trouble. When suffering comes, deal with it, but until then, well, enjoy what’s happening in your life now.

My cousin sent me this, and I liked it.  I thought it was pretty straightforward advice.  Of course, the “keep your eyes open” bit is the part that makes many of us stumble.  So many of us go through life with our eyes metaphorically closed, missing the good bits, missing opportunities.

And if I get all patchouli haze on you all, keep that third eye open, too.  So many people are afraid of the information gleaned through the third eye, so they close it, block it off.  Willfully handicapping one’s self is a silly thing to do.  More on the third eye soon.

Today is Einstein’s birthday. He would have been 123 years old. Although famous as a scientist, Einstein had a playful spirit and a great depth of soul. I love how he elevates truth and beauty as thing worth pursuing.

We’ve all heard of Aesop and his fables, but we don’t really know him. It would be difficult, as he lived in Greece in the 6th century BCE.

Aesop was quite the moralist, and his tales have survived so long because he gave good lessons. This is one I’m quite fond of, for sure.

One of the things I always encourage my students to do is think. So many of us are lazy much of the time, but Drummond reminds us of the importance of reasoning in our lives.

I won’t be a slave, and I don’t want to be a fool or bigot, so incentive to reason for myself. Good incentive, I’d say.

Just got a link to brand new baby pictures from a former student and yesterday one of my current student’s daughter was born. All these babies make me realize that the new life of spring is a symbol of hope and love. That’s just great.

Like most people, I have a lot of plans. And I often start off working at them quite nicely. But then something happens and I lose momentum. I don’t have time to work on it today, so I say tomorrow I will work twice as hard. And we all know tomorrow never comes.

Sometimes just making the effort to be consistent, to do what I plan to do, makes all the difference in the world. And so here I am, back again, aiming for some consistency!
